Haven't had the opportunity to check out the blogs in a few days, but what a lovely blog to see! Have looked at some of your recent ones, thank you for the beautiful photos. How long has quilting been a tradition on the Islands? I came to the States a long time ago and found it quite an American passion here but never saw them in Scotland, but of course quilting (or something like it) would probably have been introduced by immigrants to the USA. Anyway, never had the patience for it but can admire them just the same, a lot of work in these - just beautiful!

These are gorgeous, IT. If I had to pick one it would be the autumn leaves one. Interesting to see the quilt by the person who did the ferry square! That caught my eye in your earlier posting. Thanks again!

The Blue on Blue is just lovely. Each blue square is like a little work of art. Thank you for the photo.

Thanks for all the nice comments and I am sure the ladies who made the quilts thank you too, I am afraid I have some don't knows, sorry I do not know when quilting started in Scotland but I expect it will have been done in one form or another for centuries and sorry shivering Donald but what is a tog? something you wear!!
