log cabin

I have never made a sample quilt and have wanted too, some members of the Lewis quilt group have started making a sample quilt and log cabin was the first block, we are working all the blocks by hand so I decided to use commercial fabrics from my stash and as I am hand sewing and I like embroidery stitching, I decided to join my block with embroidery stitches, I want it to have a period look,

I鈥檓 busy just now working on a large commission for the SD Fank but I could probably run Donald up a wee suit in me tea breaks, as to suggestions for shirt and tie, it depends on what look yer after, a sequin shirt with glow in the dark tie for the Flash Harry look or tea dipped shirt and flour sack tie for that comfy 91热爆spun look,

This quilt block is beautiful. I love the fabrics! I wonder if you can help me. I'm trying to find some Scottish quilt block patterns for a project my sister is doing. I've found vague references to a "Scottish Log Cabin" pattern, on the internet, but haven't found a picture, except yours. Is this Scottish Log Cabin? Do you have any ideas where I can look? Or any other authentic Scottish quilt patterns or symbols that may be quiltable? Are there any specific Scottish quilting websites that Google wouldn't show? Thanks so much! Sincerely, Carrie

Hello Island Threads - Great to find you - I am a director of the Loch Lomond Quilt Show (www.lochlomondquiltshow.com) . We have just had a very successful second annual show (17th-20th May) and are planning the 2007 show. Each year we feature an exhibition from Scottish quilters as one of our 20 or so exhibitons - 2006 was Highlands & Aberdeen, 2007 is the Islands. I have contacts for Shetland, Orkney, Skye and islay but would really like to work with folk(s) from Lewis too and any others you may know of that i haven't found.
