Born in Calgary, Alberta, Erin studied at the Vancouver Academy of Music throughout her childhood then completed her musical studies at Western Washington University and the Rice University Shepherd School of Music.
She won several awards and scholarships including the Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation. Erin was artist in residence at the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Center for American Artists.
She made her international debut in July 2002 with the LSO as soloist in Britten's War Requiem conducted by Andrew Davis.
Roles for Lyric Opera Chicago included Gerhilde Die Walk眉re and Flowermaiden Parsifal. Future roles were due to include Margeurite Faust and Freia Das Rheingold, and she would also appear in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Vienna.
Her hobbies include swimming, travelling, reading, writing and rollerblading.
