Islands | Lindisfarne/Holy Island

Lindisfarne
Lindisfarne - holy island and a sanctuary for wildlife

Lindisfarne or Holy Island is a place that really does live up to its billing in the brochures.

It's an atmospheric landscape of mud flats, sand dunes and salt marshes which is reached by a narrow causeway which is flooded at high tide.

"This is the season when Grey Seals come ashore on remote islands and coastlines to give birth to pups covered in white fluffy fur.

"It's also a great time of year for rock pooling and watching birds. So come on, what are you waiting for?"
