Your reviews and comments for Spooks 4 Episode 6:
"Another really great episode. Harry is really on a mission this series. His evidence is mounting, I hope he gives Juliet a good fight in the final showdown which is evidently brewing. One thing puzzles me though. What could Ruth possibly have done to get that file out of Special Branch so quickly from a guy she met (and clearly turned down) on a course a year ago?"
Richard, Suffolk
"Very interesting, edge-of-your-seat action. The twist with having an innocent man was an act of genius. The actor playing Malik (*) gave a superb performance and you were left with a feeling of real empathy for the character and the situation he found himself in. The introduction of the character Jo was intriguing and we look forward to seeing how she pans out over future episodes. All in all a very excellent episode again and yet further proof that this is shaping up to be one of the best series of Spooks so far."
Steve & Rosie, Margate
"I used to really enjoy Spooks as one of the best dramas on TV. Now, however Spooks storylines seem to be getting very similar. Conspiracy between MI5 and MI6 (for a change tonight it is Special Branch) and anti-terrorist measures that are all a conspiracy by the government.
While watching this episode I thought there was something wrong with the brightness of my TV. All the interaction took place in dimly lit rooms with half of the face in darkness. Even when driving cars or going into a room in daylight everything was dark. Spooks is a good TV drama, please stop trying to turn it into some over stylish American show."
Rich, Yorkshire
"I've only watched the last three episodes of Spooks. I can't believe I have missed three series and four episodes of what is the most amazing TV series. The writing, the acting and the direction are impossibly good, but the editing deserves all the praise; each episode is a two hour film squeezed into 60 absolute spellbinding minutes. Spooks quite simply takes my breath away."
Jack Carter, Liverpool
"Absolutely loving Zaf! So chuffed that he led most of this episode. But a bit suspicious that they have Jo as a new spy, could either Ruth or Fiona be leaving us?"
Nicola Gray, Aberdeen
"Excellent! Topical, and our sympathies were cleverly worked in the right direction. Malik's anguish and the duplicity of the Government were superbly portrayed. It was all too real - are we really under that much scrutiny? - if so, it's 'spooky'!"
Simon Butcher, Mersea Island
"At last, a Spooks episode that would stand up in either series 1, 2 or 3. This episode was truly remarkable in every sense, and the first complete episode so far; it was intense, exciting, showed emotions and relationships between characters and it had espionage. Plus that music is back, the music that characterised the emotional ride of the previous three series.
Looks like Zaf and Jo will form the new Danny and Zoe relationship, which is rather satisfying; hopefully we'll see them off mission, relaxing at home or something. I'm glad to see that the writers have still got it; Spooks is back."
Alex, West Yorkshire
"Great, absolutely the best thing on at the moment (apart from Waking the Dead). But is it really feasible that a young girl gets involved with a situation, is offered a job, does training which was "amazing" and is then sitting in with really critical stuff almost straight away? If I was Ruth I'd be well miffed!"
Jill Snowsell, Norfolk
"This series of Spooks has proved to be more than riveting - I am amazed that some of the plot lines have got past the 'blue pencil'. It certainly has kept us sitting on the edge of our seats and I often wonder how close the episodes are to real life. Excellent viewing."
Hilary Segall, Ilford
"I love Spooks and I think it's fantastic but there is just one thing that is very upsetting. The majority of bad guys just happen to be Muslim extremist terrorists who want to destroy the western world. I hate to say it but Spooks seems to be implying that all Muslims are extremists which is highly wrong on many levels. It's just racism."
Muna, UK
"What can I say, *bleeping* brilliant! Very emotional and Jimi Mistry did a great job in his role. As a Muslim myself it was nice to see an innocent Muslim wanting to get out and sort his life out and not the other way round. This has just become my best Spooks episode thus far."
Kashif Akhtar, Dudley
"Is it remotely likely that a serious terrorist would let someone who's only just out of prison, that they're blackmailing into committing an assassination, drive themselves off, alone, with the gun? What about the risk of his being stopped for bad driving?!
Still, plausibility is hardly the point is it? As long as the heroes look glamorous and troubled, the villains look shifty and there's plenty of wizzy technology and split-screen hooha to keep us all on the edge of our seats."
Scoffer, London
"Is it just me, or is there something going on between Harry and Ruth?"
Emma, Grays
