Your Reviews and comments for Episode 10 Spooks 3:
"Well, I feel totally exhausted after watching the final episode. I think the writing and the tension created were excellent, along with the acting. The 3rd series has integrated new characters well, although it's sad to see the others go."
Richard, North Wales
"Wow, what a final episode to series 3! I was in tears at Danny's death, how I will miss him. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, and don't know how I can possibly wait until next year for the new series! Adam Carter's character is superb and has come on a treat over the weeks, but I'm not so impressed with Fiona and can't help wishing it were she rather than Danny who came to a grisly end at the hands of the terrorists. Ruth is a very interesting character, on the one hand almost child-like whilst at the same time utterly brilliant at her job.
I've seen all 3 series and am completely addicted to Spooks. Roll on next year!"
Bev, Chelmsford
"An excellent last episode to round off a great series. It kept viewers on the edge of their seats throughout and I was shocked when the execution took place half way through the episode.
All the actors in this episode were fantastic and Danny's final speech was an excellent piece of writing. The episode ended with a very touching scene between Ruth and Danny and I expect there was more than me in tears when the episode ended. Roll on series 4."
Sian, Manchester
"No other word than brilliant can describe episode 10 - shocking, thought-provoking. Fantastic suspence, narrative, editing and acting which define Spooks as the UK's premier drama series. Shame it has to end so soon. Lets hope we lose the moral concerns that has blighted parts of this season. Roll on season 4!!!!!!!"
Jake Hartly, Taunton
"Where is the cliffhanger? Spooks 3 has been mixed, good in places, but the cliffhangers at the end of 1 and 2 really made the wait for the following series worthwhile. I would be interested to understand why it was decided to avoid it this time."
Hayden Reeve, Portsmouth
"Great episode and finalé to series 3. As ever the writers do not flinch from killing off major characters with very little fanfare giving a greater realism. Looking forward to the next series."
Matt Thompson, Weston-Super-Mare
"After watching the entire third series, I'm just blown away by how good it has been. I haven't watched British drama this good in such a long time. The show has seen changes in cast that it has dealt with brilliantly and changes in format have added an entirely welcome and varied new dimension to the show. The finale was the best yet, I was tense and nervous throughout and Danny's last line was fantastic. Tight writing, outstanding performances, brilliant direction...I've got nothing but praise! An exciting, emotional episode that closed the book on an exciting, emotional third series. Excellent. Can't wait for next year!"
James Oakley, Sandy, Bedfordshire
"With all due respect to the existing actors in Spooks, why are three of the most popular actors being either killed off or taken away in some other way? It's like replacing Bodie and Doyle from The Professionals with two other men from CID and thinking it will be OK."
Jeff Higgs, Manchester
"I was gripped by this entire episode all the way through. I was sat on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next and was put into a state of shock when the trigger was pulled and Danny became no more. A fantastic episode and another fantastic series. My praise goes out to the Spooks team and to the 91Èȱ¬. Can't wait for season 4 now."
Mark, Frome
"Another nail biting episode - a real sting in the tail as the Iraqi woman reveals the stitches across her stomach, I was nearly sick at the thought of it. Brilliant attention to detail i.e. Sam having to be sedated at the news of Danny's murder. And as for Danny's execution... well, was he dead? Had he been shot? Yes, he had!! Thank you 91Èȱ¬ for producing such a thrilling drama and for such wonderful casting."
Andy, York
"Yet another terrific series - I've watched every episode of all three series. Last night's final episode was deeply disturbing but the script - especially Adam, Danny and Fiona's parts and the woman terrorist's gradual shift - was profoundly human. It even made it into my dreams last night. They've written out three key players this series but the cast remains very strong. Can't wait for next year."
Debby Plummer, Bolton, Greater Manchester
"Episode 10 was thrilling. Sad that Danny had to leave in a body bag. Danny works for the Government, but they deny their existence. According to an official of the Parliament the employees of MI5 are expendable. Danny’s last words were memorable. It is very unique that at the end of season 3 all major characters, except Harry, have left Spooks. Most of the viewers are not happy with this. We are left with the questions of whether Zoe and Tom will return. I can hardly wait for season four."
Maarten-Jan Melger, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, the Netherlands
"I think Spooks is certainly the best programme around at the moment. Has you on the edge of your seat most of the time. I like the new people drafted in which I'm surprised about because I hated the others leaving."
Maureen McGowan, UK
"Fantastic! After a mixed bag of episodes, this one makes up for them all. The tension in our house was unbelievable. How could Adam raise the alarm? Could Danny and Fiona escape? Could I hold out until the end of the episode? Well, he did, they tried and I did.
How brave of Danny to sacrifice himself for Fiona. Didn't see that one coming. The thing that makes Spooks so watchable and believable is that the good guys don't always win - so you never know what to expect.
Keep it up for series 4 and beyond,"
Ricardo, Rochester
"This was a worthy end to series 3. I think Danny as a character will be sorely missed. He also went out in a blaze of self-sacrifice and heroism worthy of A Tom Clancy novel. It is interesting that all the three main characters have left. What is the vision for season 4? I am getting a bit sick of the Adam and Fiona thing. I think it has been pushed as far as it can go as a plotline. The new guy Zafar would be a welcome addition to the team."
Afolabi, London
"No No No. How can they do this? Firstly super smooth spy Tom leaves, then Zoe, and now Danny, leaving Harry as the only remaining member of the original cast. Are all of the interesting characters just going to be replaced with boring desk Spooks like Ruth?"
Richard, Stafford, UK
"I am devestated that I only started watching this series half way through and I've missed so much! I've been addicted ever since. And what a season finalé! I really hope they do more with Ruth next series; she's so complex but I don't think we've even scratched the surface of her character!"
Len, London
"Superbly realistic, except for the slight implausibility of the Iraqi woman succumbing to Adam's charms and abondoning her mission at the point of avenging the death of her family. The timing of Adam getting from the Mansion House to the house in Virginia Water in time to save his wife, after the terrorist leader realised that his plot had failed, also seemed a little improbable - but typical thriller artistic licence to make a cliff-hanging ending. I think that the programme accurately reflected the way in which US and British actions in Iraq and elsewhere have caused otherwise ordinary people to become insurgents and terrorists. I also think that the programme reflects what I suspect goes on in our intelligence services fairly accurately - for example, the rivalry between different agencies and the use of interrogation techniques that fall outside the Geneva Conventions. Whilst I think that these are timely reminders, I think that it is politically dangerous to relate fictional drama to current extremely sensitive situations. It is likely to make a bad situation - for which I regard the US and British Governments largely responsible - even worse."
Julius, Cheltenham
"Can it be true? My brain is already trying to conceive of a way in which Danny cannot, MUST NOT be dead! I never expected 'The Big Three' to be shipped out in the space of a single season and yet each one has been handled with care, reason and surprise. Tom's departure was moving, Zoe's was jarring, but my jaw is still somewhere on the floor over Danny. Really outstandingly played by all, but the gravity of the episode centred so much around his death that I was suddenly hit by the fact that I had no legendary cliffhanger to ponder over! That woman is still at the Mansion dinner and everything is far from clear, but please, please, don't kill Harry."
Matthew Archer, London
"Absolutely fantastic. Enthralled by the whole episode. Already anxiously awaiting the new series.
The series seemed to dry up a little in the middle, but things have certainly picked up in recent weeks.
I am only a newcomer to Spooks, but am already hooked.
Bring it on 91Èȱ¬!!!"
