Richard Bowyer has been Chief Executive of Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity since May 2021, where his focus has been on funding the research and innovation projects that have the widest possible impact on people with serious heart and lung conditions. Previously he was Director of Marketing & Public Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and his career also spans the private and public sectors, with senior roles at BT plc and the Department of Health.
Richard has been a trustee and chair of the income generation subcommittee of the anti-bullying charity Kidscape since 2019 and he served for five years on the Standards Advisor Board at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. He is also a dissertation supervisor for students on the Henley Business School MA in Leadership.
Richard holds masters’ degrees from the University of Oxford, London School of Economics and Henley Business School. He lives in West London and spends his spare time park running, writing short stories, following the fortunes of Arsenal and Brentford football clubs and in the service of his cat.
