Design evaluation
You should reflect on and critically evaluate the creative process you followed when working through your design portfolio.
In your evaluation give justified personal opinions on:
- the decisions you made when working through your portfolio
- the effectiveness of the aesthetic and functional qualities of your portfolio, referring to your theme/stimulus
When completing your evaluation, try not to simply describe what you did by telling a story.
Your comments must be evaluative: you need to make judgements about the decisions you made and about what worked and what didn鈥檛.
You should also make justified comments on how well your expressive piece communicates the theme and how well your design solution fulfils the design brief.
Remember:
- Be honest in your evaluation - if something didn鈥檛 work out as well as you hoped, explain why.
- Explain what you would change about something if you did it again, or if you had longer to work on it.
- Make sure everything you say is backed up by the visual evidence in your portfolio.
Don't comment on any work which you didn鈥檛 include in your portfolio as this will be confusing.
