Artists and designers often exhibit their work, meaning it has to be presented in a way that will allow the viewer to see the original idea or intention. Artists and designers who are working to a specific brief will have to present work to clients in a clear manner in order to show they have met the brief.

Each of your portfolios should show your creative .

Marks are awarded for showing:

  • investigative research - 10 marks
  • a development process that produces an outcome - 30 marks

Your layout should be clear and easy to follow, showing all the important steps you went through:

A portfolio must contain an expressive theme or design brief, an investigative research, development, final outcome and evaluation

To meet the assessment criteria for process:

  • everything you include should be relevant 鈥 nothing should look out of place
  • each stage should have strong visual links to the rest of the portfolio

Labels and short can be useful if they help to make your creative process clearer, but they are not essential.
