  1. Gordon's alive - and kicking

    Slovakia v Scotland (14:00)

    Craig Gordon is back between the sticks, winning his 55th cap after a two-year hiatus.

    His last Scotland appearance was in a 3-1 loss to Portugal in October 2018.

    The 37-year-old goalkeeper has started the season well with Hearts in the Championship but I'm sure he's just keeping the place warm for Thursday's hero David Marshall.

  2. McGinn captains side with eight changes

    Slovakia v Scotland (14:00)

    Steve Clarke had promised changes with seven of his squad having played 120 minutes in the play-off final win on Serbia just three days ago - and the Scotland head coach has been true to his word.

    The suspended Lyndon Dykes is replaced by Oli McBurnie up front.

    John McGinn takes over the captaincy with Andrew Robertson, who had been an injury doubt, dropping out altogether.

    Kieran Tierney will move up to Robertson's left wing-back position as Clarke sticks with a three-man central defence. All three - Scott McKenna, Liam Cooper and Andrew Considine - are naturally left-sided, so it will be interesting to see who starts on the right.

  4. Scotland go again

    Slovakia v Scotland (14:00)

    Usually, it is the fans showing up for Scotland games rather worse for wear, but this time we have no supporters and a group of players who may just be a little groggy after the celebrations in Belgrade on Thursday.

    Now that the long, long wait to qualify for a major tournament is over, attention switches back to the Nations League.

    Scotland are in Slovakia this afternoon and a win would clinch top spot in the group with a game to spare.

    Scotland are going to Euro 2020 after a tense penalty shootout success in Serbia
