More from Steve Clarke speaking to Sky Sports: “I’m actually remarkably calm. I thought were would be a little tear and a few boys were in tears – that shows how much it means.
“When David Marshall saved the penalty I had a little glint in my eye, but managed to keep my emotions in check. I might have a little cry when I get to my room later on."
More from our glorious leader speaking to Sky Sports:
"We’ve spoken about it a lot since the low spot in Moscow, how far we’ve come as a group of players. The spirit we were building, the players were determined to get there.
“Maybe a couple of months ago people still doubted us. But we’ve shown we’ve been building character in the squad. We’ve been positive for a long time, it took us a little while to get everyone on-side with us. I think after last month people started to believe. And this time we didn’t let them down.
“The whole nation can be proud but nobody can be prouder than the players on the pitch because they were magnificent."

Steve Clarke has been speaking to Sky Sports: “I’m so proud of the players. It’s a magnificent night for everybody in Scotland. We said we’d try to put a smile back of the face of everyone and I hope they enjoyed the moment as much as we did here. They can smile tomorrow.
“When they came off the pitch after 90 minutes they were so disappointed to have conceded so late when we had one foot in the finals.
“It was just about reassuring them they had been the better team and had to dig in, make sure if the second goal was going to come would be for us. It didn’t, but penalties was enough to get us through."
Let it out, John. Let it out, brother...

Quote MessageThere's no doubt Steve Clarke has done a magnificent job. We expected him to put a team out there that was disciplined and hard to beat, but tonight that has been the team's best performance - against Serbia, a top nation - and should have won the game in normal time then showed great character and were superheroes in the end
The lads!

Quote MessageWe absolutely deserved it. We're there and the feel-good factor is there. It was the ups and downs as usual, Marshall had to produce a stunning save to keep us in it and then he saves the penalty and the SFA can pay off that loan now with £9m-odd they will get
Here comes Sportscene.

Quote MessageSometimes we go right to the brink and then we fail. This time, we went right to the brink and managed to claw our way back and David Marshall for me is the guy who has come up trumps. He deserves all the plaudits that come his way

Scotland captain Andy Robertson reveals he was next up to take a penalty and he says it's the most emotional he's been after a game.
He told Sky Sports: "When it goes to penalties you always back Marshy [David Marshall]. We've came so far as a squad and I'm proud of everyone. They've been through a lot - lot of criticism, a lot of negativity. Really hope everyone back home can see the positive side of this.
"In the 90 minutes. It's come down to one of the best away performances I've been involved in. It shows you the strength we've got to come back from that, we stuck together throughout.
"I can't wait for summer. it's the most emotional I've been after the game. I think I was next, but my hamstring had seized."
