Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talking to BT Sport: "I felt first half we saw the intent straight away, they wanted to play and they enjoyed it. It's a Champions League night at Old Trafford, you'd expect them to enjoy themselves. We scored some very nice goals, I'm pleased."

On Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani: "The two are getting used to how we want them to play - Donny can play in different positions and Edinson is a good old fashioned number nine and we haven't had that for a while and I was happy with how Anthony [Martial] played off the left."

On the penalty: "Marcus is a very good penalty taker and Bruno is very confident, if Bruno wants to give it to Marcus then why not? Anthony Martial took one against Leipzig too - why not share it around?"

On the injuries for Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka: "Hopefully they'll be ready for the weekend - it's ankle for Aaron and back for Victor. There was no point taking anymore risks."

On progression to the last 16: "We need one point, but of course we want to be top of the group but we'll take it one game at a time."

Since his debut for the club in February, Bruno Fernandes has been involved in 34 goals in 35 games for United (21 goals, 13 assists), 16 more than any other player at the club in that time.

Four of Manchester United’s 12 Champions League goals this season have been scored by substitutes, more than any other side.

Manchester United have won their last seven home games in European competition by an aggregate score of 24-2.

Istanbul Basaksehir have lost their last four away games in Europe by an aggregate score of 12-2.

Man United's Bruno Fernandes speaking to BT Sport: "I think we played really well. We started the game with the right mentality - strong, intense. First half was important to get three points today."

On his goal: "It was a really good goal - I always say we need to be ready outside of the box to these kind of situations or sometimes to stop the counter. This time was to shoot maybe next time I will have to fall and take a yellow card."

On giving penalty to Marcus Rashford: "Of course every player wants a hat-trick. But after the game in the Premier League I told Rashford that he could take the next one so I remembered that and also he's one of the top scorers in the Champions League so it's important for him to get the confidence. It doesn't matter who takes the penalty as long as the team scores.

"We're in a good position but can't relax - we have to think of the Premier League now and win the next game on Sunday and after that we don't have much time but we have some time to think of the next Champions League game."

Barcelona have reached the Champions League knockout stages for a 19th consecutive season.

This is only the second time they have won their opening four games.

Manchester United have scored at least four goals in back-to-back Champions League home matches for the first time since 2004 (6-2 v Fenerbahce and 4-1 v Sparta Prague).

Two players from the USA, Sergino Dest and Konrad de la Fuente, played for Barcelona today.

Manchester United are the only other side to play two Americans in a Champions League match - against Fenerbahce in 2004 - Tim Howard and Jonathan Spector.

Manchester United needed a good performance from everyone in a red shirt tonight.

They played well - 70% of the game, they were outstanding and made the game look easy. There was a little spell where there was a sustained bit of pressure from Istanbul Basaksahir but United were dominant tonight and like the team I would expect them to look like.

Manchester United just need one point from their final two games to reach the last 16.

They are on nine points, three above Paris St-Germain and RB Leipzig - their next two opponents.

It's all over. After a big scare Manchester United take control of this group with a deserved victory over Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.

That's a good goal for Man United. Nice and slick, nice and quick. Bit of pace from the youngsters who have just come on, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James. Easy finish for the two of them. Man United have been dominant - they had 15 minutes or so where they should've done better but they've come through it and tonight has been a very very good performance by them.

Mason Greenwood almost adds a fifth from a counter but it's well saved.

This is so, so harsh on the Hungarian champions.

They have defended brilliantly but an Alvaro Morata header in the 92nd minute - his fifth of this year's competition - looks set to send Juve through to the last 16.

David de Gea catches a cross and takes ages to release it.

First goal in the Champions League this term for Antoine Griezmann.

Four minutes added on for United to hang on - although they're not really hanging on anymore.
