Only the one goal in it then at the break, but what a goal!

Nottingham Forest soaked up a fair bit of Hull possession and pressure and then struck, breaking down an opposition attack, working the ball to Kieran Dowell who ran and ran, and when the gap appeared, arrowed a shot beyond Allan McGregor.

Hull rallied but were unable to beat Jordan Smith who made an instinctive save from David Meyler, but Forest finished the half strongest as Ben Osborn's first-time shot smacked the crossbar.

Throw in a tennis ball protest, and a bit of pie chat, and that was a good half by my reckoning.

Hull have looked dangerous when Jarrod Bowen has been on the ball and he put the ball across a moment ago for Kamil Grosicki whose shot was poor.

Got to say Forest's Barrie McKay hasn't been involved too heavily so far. So much for my big billing.

Having had their heads metaphorically snapped back by Forest's counter-punch, Hull have rallied and woken up somewhat.

They're the team in the ascendancy. Winning the 50-50s in midfield and controlling possession.

Forest are in front though and that's what counts.

On the subject of pies and pasties, the best pie I've had in a long time at the football was at Sheffield Wednesday where a 'Steak & Hendo's' pie was sensational.

It's a bit like Worcestershire sauce, but better. Controversial but true.

Not a lot happening, other than another mini-bombardment of tennis balls and a goal kick out on the full by Jordan Smith.

It's the time of day where your live texter is getting slightly distracted by the pasty adverts running around the side of the pitch.

I'll do my best to ignore them though. Hull enjoying a spell of possession but unable to crack Forest as it stands.

Kamil Grosicki is the next to try his luck, but a curling 18-yarder is plucked out of the air by Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith.

Mounting pressure on the back of the goal. Execution lacking for the Tigers.

That goal means Hull City have to come out and go for it, and they do as Max Clark gets down the left but Michael Mancienne comfortably heads his cross out of danger.

Can't say the tennis ball incident has helped this game really, it's gone a bit flat when you thought it might just ignite.

Then, just as I wrote that Hull broke and Markus Henriksen rattled a shot into the Forest defensive line. Blocked.

David Vaughan scythed down David Meyler as he scuttled into space and Forest conceded a free-kick.

However, nothing came of it and the visitors are able to retrieve possession.

There have been a few sloppy fouls from both side, and more than a few errors.

Sam Winnall scored a late winner for Derby to condemn Norwich to their first defeat at Carrow Road this season, and a first Championship loss in 10 games.

Derby County boss Gary Rowett: "I'm never going to be satisfied... [but] I'm pretty pleased with the afternoon's work. I thought we coped pretty well.

"Chris [Martin] made a difference. Sam Winnall made a difference.

"As a manager, you don't get time to celebrate, but I hope the fans did because they were magnificent."

Pitch cleared and the fans are now making their feelings felt vocally rather than, say, physically.

It's an interesting backdrop for the players to work in...

A raking ball finds Max Clark on the left, but Forest do well to shut down the move - before Tendayi Darikwa cheaply gives the ball away.

Hull fail to capitalise. Now their fans are hoying tennis balls onto the pitch. Fraizer Campbell to do his best to boot them off.

It's a protest from the home support aimed towards their ownership by the Allam family.

Fraizer Campbell close there to getting a shot away, but was well shepherded in the end by Forest.

There's genuine ebb and flow. Neither side grabbing it by the scruff of the neck yet, and lots of daft turnovers.

Hull City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest get down the Hull right and the ball falls back post for Ben Osborn, who shot is blocked for a corner!

Chance... but the corner is an extremely damp squib. Osborn lost his footing and skewed it out. Oops! Landed on his bum too...

Hull are good at exploding into life, putting Kamil Grosicki away down the left with pace but Jordan Smith punched it away in the end.

It's quite open for the most part, both sides happy to trade efforts. Entertaining start.

Burton scored their first goal in six Championship games, taking the lead against Ipswich through Ben Turner, but Bersant Celina's 89th-minute goal consigned them to another defeat.

Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough: "I'm very disappointed. That's very tough to take after the effort that's gone in today.

"They (Ipswich) didn't deserve to win the game today "

They play the great sport of rugby league on this pitch at Hull FC so dimensions wise it's at the bigger end of the scale.

That suits an expansive game plan but also can catch teams out in terms of that ball over the top.

Hull will know it better than anyone...
