Jonjo Shelvey burts into the Wednesday box and hits another powerful shot on target, but Keiren Westwood saves again.

Those two have been having a very entertaining second-half duel.

Adam Reach attempts a fizzing cross from the left but it is too high and won't trouble the Newcastle defence.

Newcastle haven't played particularly badly. They've just come up against a Sheffield Wednesday side who are playing with real intensity and have got a lot of men forward.

Christian Atsu comes on for Newcastle's Mo Diame.

And Wednesday take off Ross Wallace, bringing on Jose Semedo instead.

The Owls are on course for a massive win that would see them return to sixth spot, moving back above Fulham.

And the 28,883 inside Hillsborough are seeing a cracking game this evening. It's been very good to watch.

Ruben Lameiras scored the only goal as Coventry beat Peterborough to stave off relegation for at least six more days.

Coventry boss Mark Robins: "For us it is about building on performances, we know what is coming or what is likely to come. 

"People are playing for their futures. They are giving me everything they have got.

"We still need more in front of goal to convert chances, but I’m seeing it a bit more now."

From a long throw-in from the left, Steven Fletcher flicks an outstanding header over Karl Darlow and into the far corner.

That's possibly the best header I've seen in the EFL this season. Such strength in the neck - he was a fair way out. Brilliant.

Wednesday's Ross Wallace curls a dangerous, in-swinging free-kick from the right towards goal, but Karl Darlow bravely leaps out to punch the ball clear.

Yoan Gouffran snaps a shot wide for Newcastle from outside the area, after a decent dart forward from Jonjo Shelvey.

It's lively, this game, that's for sure.

From a Newcastle corner, Daryl Murphy gets his head to the ball but angles his effort too far wide across the face of goal, and it didn't have enough power on it.

The goal came after Newcastle had enjoyed their best spell of the game so far, by a long way.

Straight after that substitution - and against the run of play - Wednesday get the opener through Tom Lees as he uses his strength in the air to climb above the Newcastle defence and power a header into the corner, from Ross Wallace's free-kick. That's a superb header.

Gary Hooper goes off to warm applause around Hillsborough.

On comes Jordan Rhodes for the hosts.

Two goals for Barnsley in the first 10 minutes leaves Blackburn four points adrift of Bristol City, their third defeat in a row.

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray: "It's always been a big job and today's results obviously don't help at all. 

"It's a time to stick together, it's a time not to pick holes in each other. It's a time to find team spirit that will hopefully get us results." 

"My own view is the team is working extremely hard and days like today do come along in football. It's a frustrating day for all of us because we huffed and puffed but didn't ultimately get there."
