    This Knight-Greenway partnership is important for England. It doesn't matter if they take a little longer to get in, as long as they stick around.

    Seamer Megan Schutt returns in place of Jonassen, and after a single from Greenway, Knight opens the face well to dab a four through third man. There's a stifled lbw appeal as Knight is hit on the pad by one sailing well down the leg side, and a single takes the vice-captain to 25. Five overs until we have a game.

    The required rate is up to 5.72 - but a worrying sign is that the New Road ground staff are still hovering next to the covers, as if they sense more rain ahead. Heather Knight gets England back up and running with a lovely cover drive for two. Her 20 has come from 47 balls.

    Jonassen finishes off her rain-extended over with three dot balls to the left-handed Greenway.

    Sonia Odedra has been on the county circuit for yonks. She played in the Test last year, for me it was 'right time, right place' with Brunt injured. But my gut feeling is that she's a good county player, I can't see her coming back into the [Test] squad, she didn't even play in the England Academy side against Australia.

    England have a lot of experience under their belts but haven't always performed. I think Amy Jones is a very good batsman, would you have her in the side over the likes of Greenway?

    Umpires coming out to have a look, and a chat with the New Road ground staff. One or two of the side covers have been removed, but the main covers are still on. Australia are laughing and joking by the boundary, as well they might.

    While the playing conditions for women's ODIs aren't quite the same as the men's, I think we can still lose a little more time before Messrs Duckworth and Lewis get involved and start chipping off overs.

    And as I write that... the side covers are being reattached. Bad times.

  16. Why we need 7.3 more overs

    An important point to note - as England have not yet faced 20 overs, we do not yet have a game constituted.

    So in the (hopefully unlikely) scenario that the players don't get back on the field, it would be a "no result" and both teams would take one point.

    I love Ian Bell-type cricketers, I could watch Meg Lanning all day, and Sarah Taylor falls into that category. She's almost on her own in terms of talent, but we've not seen it fulfilled. She's a very good player but could be so much better.
