I wonder if that caught-and-bowled chance is preying on England's minds - particularly Rebecca Grundy's - as Australia are looking increasingly assured here. Knight has a very tidy 0-12 from her four overs.

The way Australia go about their business at the moment, they're looking for scores of about 250, but they've got more than 20 overs left and wickets in hand.

  4. Aus 100-3 (Perry 37*, Blackwell 28*)published at 29 overs

Grundy, with 0-22 from seven overs, is replaced by medium-pacer Natalie Sciver at the River End. Georgia Elwiss at third man is kept busy as the Aussie fourth-wicket pair steer three singles in her direction, while Shrubsole gets down at mid-on to take the pace off a firm on-drive from Blackwell - conceding one but stopping four. Warm applause around the County Ground as Australia reach 100.

  6. Aus 94-3published at 28 overs

Off-spinner Knight goes round the wicket to the right-handed Perry, who can only manage to thread a single through the covers. Knight is back over the wicket to Blackwell, who finally breaks the shackles as she uses her feet and smacks a four just wide of the diving Shrubsole at extra cover.

England are getting a bit of a stranglehold in these middle overs.

  8. Aus 89-3 (Perry 33*, Blackwell 22*)published at 27 overs

Captain Edwards shuffles her field, and she's getting through a few miles herself in the field - but it's working as England whistle through another over of Grundy's spin, yielding just one run.

  10. Aus 88-3 (Knight 2-0-5-0)published at 26 overs

The Taunton crowd look like they're enjoying the day - it's sunglasses and cold drinks all round. More sedate progress from Australia, Knight doesn't give them anything loose to hit, and it's two singles from the over.

Spinners isn't a bad option here. Charlotte Edwards is doing well by trying to keep Perry off strike. If they can keep Blackwell on strike, they may take a wicket, though if they don't get a wicket for a couple of overs they could bring Nat Sciver or Georgia Elwiss on.

    Who's carrying the drinks?

If you didn't hear the team news earlier, it's Jenny Gunn, Laura Marsh and Lauren Winfield carrying the drinks today - while Australia's Nicole Bolton was ruled out after suffering concussion yesterday, and joining her on the sidelines are Rene Farrell and Megan Schutt.

I've told Sarah Taylor plenty of times that she should wear a helmet standing up to the stumps, but she's quite a strong-willed girl.

    Aus 86-3 (Perry 31*, Blackwell 21*)

It's still a fairly attacking field as we reach the halfway point of the innings. Wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor, standing up to Grundy's left-arm spin but choosing to wear a cap rather than a helmet, has to take evasive action as a ball rears up towards her face. But it's a better over for England, only a wide and a single from it - that's the fifty stand and the players have earned some drinks.

It's a decent pitch so to take wickets when there hasn't been shine on the ball has been difficult for England. Maybe England need a bit of a change-up.

  16. Aus 84-3published at 24 overs

It's Cross off and Heather Knight on to bowl some off-spin. Since switching from seam to spin a year or two ago, she's bowled so regularly for England in the past year that we can't really describe her as a part-time spinner any more. (Besides, as we need to stay on her good side!). Just a two and a single from a flighty first over from Knight.

  18. Aus 81-3 (Grundy 5-0-19-0)published at 23 overs

It's still left-arm spin from Grundy for now, and she shows her frustration with her head in her hands as Perry pulls another four - the seventh of her innings.

  19. Aus 77-3published at 22 overs

Blackwell, having started sensibly, is moving up through the gears with a couple of fours from Cross's sixth over - the TMS crew are wondering about a bowling change (or two), given that England have a number of options. This stand is now worth 42.
