Reading striker Matej Vydra hopes his confidence in front of goal will flow following his first career hat-trick.

The Czech Republic international, 23, netted three goals against Huddersfield in an FA Cup third-round replay victory at the Madejski Stadium.

The former West Brom player had scored only three times in 20 appearances for The Royals before Tuesday's treble.

"Sometimes when you're not scoring, you think too much about how you want to score," he told 91热爆 Radio Berkshire.

Reading reportedly paid Watford 拢2.5m to bring Vydra to the Madejski Stadium for the season when he agreed his season-long loan in September.

But goals have proved hard to come by in a side which saw its top goalscorer Nick Blackman move to Derby earlier this month.

"Sometimes you have to wait for the special moments," added Vydra. "I felt great after the first two goals against Huddersfield, much more confident.

"When you're struggling to score, it's better to just close your eyes and shoot. Having scored a hat-trick now, maybe more goals will come."

Reading return to Championship action on Saturday at home to play-off contenders Sheffield Wednesday, looking to improve their form of only one win in their past five games.

"We're not thinking about what will be at the end of the season," said Vydra. "We're just thinking about Saturday and Sheffield Wednesday.

"We just want to win the next game and then the next game."
