Expensive Diesel

Just found this gem of a comparison chart on the 91热爆s own news web pages, regarding the cost of fuel:
Fascinating eh? Scandalous as well. And how much tax of that goes straight to Westminster?
And Mull has got possibly the worst roads in the whole West Coast
Ripped off ragged so we are.

PS: No geology here, I hear you say, well, actually there is a link. I used to work on the rigs in the N Sea, working as a geologist and well surveyor. The stuff as it comes up is actually, as one driller once described it to me "like dirty petrol". Noit thick and black, but actually quite fine. Probably doesnt take much refining to turn it into fuel suitable for vehicles.

i hope the day will soon be here when we can, officially use altenatives to petrol- yes it exists but goverments will lose a lot of money if we use other means

About 18 months ago the Swedish govt. introduced a 拢900 subsidy to anyone buying a car that would run on ethanol/petrol mixture. About 8 months ago, the media started tot tell us that ethanol production from grain was pushing the price of foodstuffs up so much that third and fourth worlders were being pushed even closer to the survival boundary. Yesterday the govt. announced a double subsidy to those buying all-electric cars. That and the high price of petrol and even worse - diesel - may change the way people behave in the long term. A necesary though painful operation.

57p PER LITRE goes to our government, our LABOUR government, with a SCOT at the helm.... today I got fuel for 拢1.38 but other pumps in Lerwick were up to 拢1:42.9 so out of my 拢60 or so how much did the Government get....

Sorry lads and lassies, hope you have not all booked Ryanair tickets to Swithiod, the double subsidy for electric vehicles is so far only a proposal - may be pased in the Autumn. Watch this space, if you are the patient type.
