Been away from here for a while - blame the bugs that are around at this time of year - I really havent felt like going anywhere! Anyway, better now and as the weather looked OK for a while anyway, on Sunday the 2nd i took a wee saunter up Cnoc Fuar.

Weather was sunny, and the clouds were really impressive. Before it all closed in of course. No geology for you unfortunately, but here are some cloud pics - no particular order, but most are taken looking over towards Ardnamurchan:

So thats it for now. Geology class is back on, on Wed evening at 7:00 pm at An Tobar. There is a field trip planned for this weekend - actual location is to be decided (we can pin that one down on Wed). Rain has stopped play a couple of times, so here's hoping for an improvement.

See you soon!

Hi MM - looks like we both made it outside yesterday - wasnt it fab? Great pictures - look very similar to ones I took yesterday on our trip to Calgary via Ulva Ferry/Loch Na Keal!

Aye, WF, the weather was good for a spell, then it all came in. There was serious hail as well at one point at the weekend but I managed to miss it. The clouds are great when the weather is like this. I remember talking to a photographer who had spent some time in Australia - I told him that it must be great for pictures - not so good for landscapes he reckoned - "too much blue sky with no clouds to add variety" !!! So there you go. Weather is actually better here..... :-)

Lovely cloudscapes, MM. And you definitely don't want too much blue sky, it's bad for photos and for your skin :-)

And the Aussies are into the eighth continuous year of drought...

Lovely clouds; towering cumulus and cumulo nimbus are so characteristic of this season. What's more they make for such dramatic cloudscapes. I'll even forgive them the snow that often falls from them.

That'll be that "nasty cold wet stuff" you're speaking about Hyper?
