Best Practice Guidance

• Assess how you will use the tail lift safely.

• Decide and record how you are to use the tail lift safely - SSOW

• Include within your risk assessments or carry out separate risk assessments on the use of tail lifts, as required.

• Train those who are using the tail lift to do so safely.

• Service your tail lift to keep it safe and reliable, where applicable.

• Get a thorough examination report every six months, where applicable.

• Record all the above and keep those records, as required.
