Johnnie L Cochran worked himself up the ranks of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, eventually becoming the Assistant District Attorney. He left to start his own private practice dealing with both criminal and civil cases.
As well as representing celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Cochran earned a reputation fighting the corner of those who were failed or abused by law enforcement. In fact, juries have awarded clients of Cochran’s millions of dollars in reparations.
With the 1992 LA riots fresh in the mind of the public, Cochran knows that the issue of race is as important as ever.
