Emma Gladstone
Contemporary Second Round Judge
Emma is Artistic Director & Chief Executive of Dance Umbrella, London’s international dance festival. Since being appointed in 2013 she has commissioned hip hop, ice skating and folk dance as well as contemporary dance, initiated a professional development programme, and launched a regular strand of programming for children and young people.
Previously she worked at Sadler's Wells for eight years, and for a range of other cultural organisations including Cape Farewell, South East Dance, and the Southbank Centre.
A dancer for 20 years Emma worked with Arlene Phillips before co-founding Adventures in Motion Pictures with Matthew Bourne. She now regularly works as an advisor and mentor for dancers and choreographers, and in December 2014 was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Trinity Laban.
