Lesley Manville: ‘Sometimes I think: ‘Really? We’re still not being heard?’’
Actor Lesley Manville joined Nuala McGovern on Woman’s Hour this week and spoke about why she thinks it’s so important to see older women’s stories on screen.
She described the changes she’s seen since becoming an actor aged 16, and that she thinks that the positive change is all down to women shouting louder and making noise.
Lesley was on the programme speaking about her latest role in Richard Icke’s Oedipus in the West End, her first role back on stage since 2020.
You can listen to the full interview on 91Èȱ¬ Sounds – it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 15 October.
