In a special programme celebrating 40 years of EastEnders, Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter on the soap, spoke to Anita Rani about the storylines she’s been part of over the years.

Kellie explained what it was like to portray Linda’s struggle with alcohol addiction, and why she thinks so many viewers connect with the storylines featured in the show.

This special episode of 91Èȱ¬ Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour came live from Albert Square, where Anita was also joined by executive producer Chris Clenshaw and some more of the show’s most iconic and powerful women – Diane Parish, Michelle Collins and Heather Peace.
