Public consultation begins into plans for sports pitches off Eagle Drive in Northampton with concerns about damage to the site of the Battle OF Northampton & the effect on a nearby riding school.

Public consultation begins and arguments continue over plans for sports pitches at land off Eagle Drive in Northampton, near to Delapre Park. Northampton Borough Council's proposals include new training facilities for the Saints and the Cobblers as well as a memorial pitch for Richard Butcher, the professional footballer who died last year. Concerns surround possible damage to the site of the Battle OF Northampton and about the likely impact of a nearby riding school.
