Majestic migrants
Birder Graham McIlwaine and Janet Sumner are up early to view whooper swans as they land on fields near Lough Neagh. Fifteen thousand whooper swans migrate from Iceland to Northern Ireland every year. Exhausted after the 800 mile journey all they want to do is eat. They fly in every morning to feed in the fields after roosting overnight at the northern end of the lough. The swans are preparing themselves for the next breeding season.
