Young grass snake

Even in summer there are no guarantees of good weather, so Sanjida O'Connell heads indoors to meet reptile expert Rhys Jones. He's caught a baby grass snake. It's got a very, very long thin tail which means it's likely a male. There aren't that many grass snakes in Wales so the National Botanic Garden of Wales is a really good place for them - it's got everything a grass snake needs. To lay their eggs they need moisture and heat, and the gardens also have ponds where they hunt amphibians. Rhys and Sanjida go off to free the snake.
