Beirut鈥檚 Zach Condon joins Mary Anne to reveal his musical Unknown Pleasures. This is a series where we ask some of our favourite artist to share some lesser known loves with us. Given that Beirut's latest album Gallipoli, was recorded in New York, Berlin and a studio complex in rural Puglia, we can't wait to hear what new sounds Zach has discovered.

Indeed it was in Italy where Zach rediscovered music as a visceral experience, which became the driving principle behind the new album.

Work on the new album began in the winter of 2016, as Beirut鈥檚 Zach Condon returned to his old Farfisa organ, which he inherited from a travelling circus at his local theatre space when he was a teenager, and that he used to write the first two Beirut albums, 2006鈥檚 Gulag Orkestar and 2007鈥檚 The Flying Club Cup.
