In a concert given at Glasgow's City Halls, the Scottish Ensemble, directed by Jonathan Morton, celebrates the 80th birthday of composer Thea Musgrave with Green, a newly-commissioned work, which, the composer says, is about conflict, expressed by the clash of opposing musical forces.

Along with classic American works by Adams and Copland, the programme includes Steve Reich's Clapping Music, a minimalist piece dating from 1972. It is written for two performers and, as the title implies, is performed entirely by clapping.
