You can find out more about planets, stars and galaxies at Norfolk's Great Ellingham Observatory.

Run by the Breckland Astronomical Society, it opened in October 2000 and is equipped with a computer-controlled 20-inch reflector telescope.

What's On

Find out what makes a star explode and what happens when it does with Supernova, a talk by Merlin Ellis, BSc, MSc, FRAS on Friday, August 10. Doors open 7pm and admission is £1.50 adults, 75p juniors, including refreshments. Telescope viewing afterwards, subject to clear skies.

The observatory is at the Great Ellingham Recreation Centre, B1077 Watton Road, Great Ellingham, Norfolk.

Meetings are held on the second Friday of every month.

New members are welcome and beginner lessons are given for people without much knowledge of astronomy.
