Norfolk scientists map the blueprint of life

Researchers at the John Innes Centre in Norwich were part of an international team of scientists that spent more than four years tracing the genetic map of Arabidopsis thaliana, or thale cress.

Understanding the DNA code could help revolutionise farming by improving crops' resistance to disease, and could even give new insight into human health.

The John Innes Centre is a leading international establishment for research and training in plant and microbial science.
