In pictures: Wales' Paralympians at London 2012

Pippa Britton, 49, from Cowbridge, and living in Newport, competes in archery. She is currently ranked number two in the world. She came fifth in Beijing, but has continued to enjoy success, gaining silver at the Europeans in Vichy, France, in 2010.

Mark Colbourne, 42, from Tredegar, is competing in the C1 track and road cycling. Mark won silver in the Paracycling World Road Race Championships just 18 months after breaking his back in a paragliding accident in May 2009.

Jacob Thomas, 17, from Bethesda, near Narberth, competes in the boccia in the BC3 class. He is ranked 17 in the world and became the Welsh and British champion in 2010. He still holds both titles and is a member of the GB Elite Boccia squad.

Rachel Morris, 33, is from Guildford, although her family are from Milford Haven. She competes in the cycling in the H3, road race and time trial events. A second time Paralympian, she won a double gold medal at her first UCI Para-world cycling championships, and was the first British hand cyclist to be crowned double world champion.

Darren Harris, 39, from Cardiff, is competing in football. In Beijing 2008 he competed as a judoka after scooping silver in the European Championships the previous May. He plays for West Brom's visually impaired football team and has 95 international football caps.

Keryn Seal, 30, from Bridgend but now living in Exeter, is competing in football. He is a member of the Great Britain blind five-a-side football team. He has already competed at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, where the team finished fifth.

Gemma Collis, 19, who lives in Oxford, competes in wheelchair fencing. She began playing wheelchair basketball in 2010 and represented Wales under-25s at the 2011 Celtic Cup. She first represented Great Britain at the 2012 Malchow Wheelchair Fencing World Cup.

David Anthony, 21, from Neath, competes in the 2.5 class of wheelchair rugby. He is making his Paralympics debut at London 2012 and has already represented GB at the 20009 European Championships.

James Roberts, 16, from Prestatyn, competes in the sitting volleyball. He has changed disciplines after he was one of the first Paralympic rowers at Beijing. In sitting volleyball he has earned 45 GB caps and is considered a universal player, and key in defence.

Sam Bowen, 26, from Mountain Ash, south Wales, competes in the sitting volleyball. She started on the Disability Sport Wales programme after she recovered from being injured serving with the Army in Iraq in 2006. The women's team finished seventh in Europe in a recent tournament.

Amy Brierly, 22, from Garden City, Flintshire, is competing in sitting volleyball. In 2011, she was part of the GB team who won bronze at the World Championships in Oklahoma.

Clare Strange, 32, from Newport and now living in Buckinghamshire, is competing in wheelchair basketball. London will be her fourth Paralympics. Her sporting highlights include five European bronze medals as well as winning the 2011 Paralympic World Cup. (Picture Sport Wales).

Jessica O'Brien, 20, from Cardiff, is competing in sitting volleyball. London will be the first Paralympic Games for She made her GB debut at the 2010 World Championships.

Sam Scott, 21, from Cardiff, competes for the men's GB sitting volleyball team, and has earned 27 caps. He played for the team at the World Cup in Egypt last year, and recent at the Harpers International. He plays as a setter but missed the world championships through injury.
