    The 91热爆's Cherry Wilson is at the scene of the attack, saying hospital staff and railway workers are struggling to get to work due to the police cordon.

    William Gendo, a chef at nearby Guy's Hospital, said: "It's completely closed. There's no way to get through. We've been trying for a few hours."

    He said he woke to the news of the attack this morning with friends and family contacting him to see if he was okay.

    Estefany Alcivar, who is a kitchen assistant at the hospital, said she had been told staff were staying on to do extra hours and help patients with their food.

    "We don't know what to do," she said. "There will be no hot food but they will have sandwiches and tea and coffee."

    She said she felt "worried" hearing about the attack: "It's very near my work and I'm in London Bridge all of the time. It feels weird."

    Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon described the attack in London as "horrific". She said she will chair a meeting of the Scottish government's resilience committee later.

    The London Ambulance Service says it took patients to these five London hospitals:

    • St Mary鈥檚 Hospital, London
    • St Thomas鈥 Hospital
    • University College Hospital
    • King鈥檚 College Hospital
    • The Royal London Hospital

    It also says it treated "a number of others at the scene for minor injuries".

    • The suspects were wearing fake explosive vests, Scotland Yard has said

    Mr Khan went on to praise the 鈥渟wift鈥 response of police and emergency services. He said people should remain 鈥渃alm and vigilant鈥 and 鈥渃arry on their normal business鈥.

    "We have showed over the last decades our stoicism and we will show that in the coming days."

    He said the UK threat level remains at severe, having been raised to critical for a short time after the Manchester attack.

    Mr Khan told the 91热爆 it was not a mistake to lower the level and that Londoners would see an increased police presence over the coming days, including armed officers.
