    Nigel Farage has said UKIP is "absolutely right" not to stop campaigning in the immediate aftermath of the London attack.

    The former UKIP leader told : "The Prime Minister said we must not let terrorism affect our lives, it must not stop the democratic process, then in the next sentence she says we're going to suspend campaigning... we have to continue with the democratic process, it's what our country is about."

    Liberal Democrat peer Brian Paddick, who was also on the programme, responded that there "[needed] to be a period of respect for the dead... and if you can't stop campaigning for one day to show respect for that we're morally lost".

    A source in the Labour party has revealed that Jeremy Corbyn will give a speech in Carlisle tonight.

    They said that he will address the London attack and set out Labour's values.

    The speech will be "statesmanlike" according to the source, and take place in front of a small audience.

    The party has cancelled a rally and will not campaign for the rest of the day.

    Michael Territt, who is 40 and from London, was having dinner when he saw people who were stabbed lying on the floor outside.

    I saw people on the floor, and another person slumped and someone screaming for help. I saw two men holding their backs - they were badly bleeding. I had to do something 鈥 I went to High Street to get help. I got the attention of one policeman and a medic and I said, 'We need help down here in the restaurant.' They came to the restaurant, and the shutters were then pulled down because we know someone was running around stabbing people. Everyone was panicking. People were shouting about terrorism and were upset. My adrenalin was pumping 鈥 but I just wanted to keep everyone calm and try to get through the situation. It was horrible, one victim was getting CPR, and he wasn鈥檛 responding 鈥 someone was losing their life, how do you witness that?鈥

    Four police officers were injured in last night's attack. They included one officer from British Transport Police, who is seriously injured. There are also three Metropolitan Police officers, included one who was an off-duty officer who apprehended one of the attackers and sustained knife injuries. He is is a serious condition.

    The chairman of the Met Police Federation Marsh has confirmed that "some of our police colleagues were among the injured".

    "I join all UK police colleagues in wishing them a swift recovery. We are offering them our full support," Ken Marsh said.

    The British Transport Police (BTP) has said one of its officers was stabbed in the face as he responded to the attack.
