...(2 that is) for a fortnight tomorrow.
But what a way to go.
We will all have the pleasure of Breakfast with Matt Lucas tomorrow. Now there's a clever guy. Can't wait to get stuck into a big old meaty chat with him.
In the meantime, I'm off for a pasty whilst they are still cooler than the ambient temperature.

Might as well get it now I suppose. Hang on though, eyes streaming, runny nose too and scratchy throat. Hey everyone look - it's the tree pollen party come to town. Injection required today but already left London till tomorrow. D'oh !
In other and far more important matters. The pie tax debate rolls on. What is going to happen ? Pieminister, on behalf of all pie and pasty lovers, we implore you to reconsider. We are all far too confused as to what's classed as hot and what's not.

...Our mini summer we're having at the moment is due to end, well more like a fade actually, sometime around Friday sliding into Saturday. So this is it folks, for now at least. Make the most, pretend you're the toast. Except for me, I'm like the perennial beetroot. Not fun, or pretty but you can't have everything.
Great show today from the team. They really are the mutts' unmentionables when it comes to giving me good stuff to play with. As Freddie once said, "I thank you all !" Well, he sang it actually but I'm sure you get my drift.
Peace and Love and Sunblock.

on such a joyous day. Truly magnificent with a fresh wind here in London just to keep you on your toes, should you begin to get a bit too loved up with Mr Sun. I've been writing all morning and now have an hour of me and grass time in the park before Tash turns up for our Bond Quiz this evening.
For those who missed it this morning, CarFest tickets go on sale at 8 am, Wednesday 18th of April. And the website goes live this Friday. It's already a great year. Cheers!

Simples. No One Show tonight for me, so we (the fam) have met up and shot off early. It almost feels like a bank holiday weekend. Usually I'm not home till 9 p.m. on a Friday night. Whereas today I was at the pasty shop for eleven o'clock. One of the reasons I do The One Show is to keep the pasty shop at bay till at least Saturday.
No harm once in a while though, doing the pasty double.
Right, I'll go and get red whilst everyone else gets a tan. You can't have everything. And even if you could, where would you put it all ?

... making a film to encourage reluctant blokes to go and get checked out for nasties. It's a brilliant place full of brilliant people. The film is due to be on The One Show the first week in April.
Thank you to everyone involved in today's shoot. You are all amazing.

On the wings of a dove comes another day tomorrow. And, as it happens, another budget. Yes, it's that time again folks, when the chancellor delves inside his funny tatty little red case and declares his plan for balancing the nation's books. Which might go someway to explaining the abnormal queue spilling out of the petrol station and snaking down our local high street this evening. I was heading for the video shop but thought better of it after a weird Tuesday teatime wait. Looks like the Berkshire massive think fuel's gonna get it again whereas I don't think he'll be hitting the tax on film rental too much so I should be ok putting my movie selection off for another twenty four hours.
But hey, do you remember, as a kid, the intrigue with which you greeted the budget ? And the mystery as to why all the adults got so uppity about having to spend more of their hard earned money to in order to kill themselves with fags and booze ? That's what I always used to think.
Nowadays I wonder whether the huge anti smoking and drinking campaigns of the last few years, which have obviously been so successful, have forced more recent governments to increase tax on cigarettes and alcohol exponentially in order to sustain what was once a rich vein of revenue for HMRC.
I'll tell you what, you have a glass of wine and think about it, I'll nip outside for a quick puff and we'll reconvene in ten.
Peace (pipe) and Love.

I'm blogging from The One Show where we await the arrival of Cilla !
Her new album is out and she's coming on to talk about it. All one hundred and thirty nine tracks of it. Now that's value - if you like Cilla that is.
Also coming to visit is Paul McGann, he of Withnail And I. One of my top three favourite movies of all time.
Alex is back and so is her voice but our boss Sandy has now lost his. Chelsea fan, he was at the game on Wednesday. "Best night ever !" He croaked. "Had to do my bit."
Bless him.

Greg and John are always huge value. And it really has been another corking series this year. But who will win ? Find out tonight 91Èȱ¬1, 9pm.
In other news, the fog still to lift in Berkshire but I know what's waiting for us because I left it in London and it's blue skies and bright sunshine. Quick nap and then the rest of the day to take on. Can't wait. See you tomorrow for rugby/F1 and general pre weekend warming up.

..They woke up winners this morning and as we know winners are very much grinners. They attended not one but two industry ceremonies yesterday and scooped awards at each. Hats off to the lot of 'em. There's none finer. And where was I ? Beavering away at home up against a deadline vying for the award, Best Bloke Sitting In His Garage Scratching His Head Wondering What To Write. And the other nominees are . . .

Where did this one come from ? Well I suppose it's a product of the more you do, the more you do syndrome. We talk cakes versus pies for CarFest and then out of nowhere scrutineering and the need for rules comes into play. I love it. There are things in life that are important and then there are things in life that are only important because we all agree they are. And, 'is banoffee pie a cake or a pie?' is definitely one of them.
Let's do all this again tomorrow, and then the next day and the next and the next and so on.
Peace and Love.

Meeting number two just finished. Ten very enthusiastic people around one big table ticking as many organisational boxes as possible in 90 minutes. And then its action time. Bands confirmed, auction house on board and hill-climb timed. More to come, and the latest twist in this festival tale tomorrow on the radio. Now I don't know about you, but I've got to meet my wife in an hour and if I'm late, I'll be toast. Seeing as I'm off bread for Lent that would be bad news all round. Toast is not allowed. Got to go. Ta ta for now

Another excellent enlightening force for Friday. And now I file this blog live from the toilet cubicle just opposite The One Show production office. Actually we should call it The Formula One Show tonight as we're joined by Jake Humphrey and David Coulthard talking about the new season which kicks off in Oz next weekend.
Hope your own Friday night show is shaping up how you'd like it. See you for more radio on the other side come Monday morning.

Electrons from outer space raining down upon us, whatever next? Somebody will be telling me we've got one of the Osmonds on the show next. Oh, yep-thats just happened. How about a big hand for little Jimmy. Joining us live for Breakfast tomorrow. In other news, its tribute band day in the CarFest production office. By production office what I really mean is my car on the way home. Leaning towards the 60's and not The Fab Four but that other band. You know, the one with the bloke that has the huge lips. Nothing signed, nothing sealed but we still hope to deliver by the end of the day
Happy Thursday everyone.

... First time this year. Do you think that as the days stay lighter longer, so do we ? That's how it feels sometimes. Hey ho, there we go.
Back from Italy last night, after a couple of days hanging around with some car dudes. After my friend Morgs left his bag in the lounge in Bologna, he was in such a tizz. He then bought himself a bottle of his favourite gin to take home with him. At passport control in the UK, "d'oh !" He exclaimed, he'd only gone and left that on the plane as well.
His journey home was also quite light. A lot lighter than he'd intended.

I have had a mahoosive sorting out day. Didn't stop until night time told me to. Satisfaction achieved. I am now as hungry as a horse fresh back from the hunt. Could eat my own arm but not much meat there. I wonder what treat Mrs E has in store. Always a wonder in The Kitchen. I am a lucky lucky man.
Clarkson of The Jeremy kind tomorrow. We are most grateful to him for his company. Outside of one publicity day a year, he doesn't do this sort of stuff. Can't wait. Tomorrow on The Breakkie Show just after eight.
