The streets of Clones are thronged and the music rings out from pubs and shops as the fleadh continues. People sip their drinks and nod along to the songs, one or two of which are performed casually, glass in hand, by some well-known musicians.
Luke Kelly and Barney McKenna (seen playing the banjo in this film) were both members of the Dubliners, a famous folk group who later had two UK pop chart hits with the songs Seven Drunken Nights and Black Velvet Band. Andy Irvine, who features here accompanying Luke Kelly on the mandolin, was a member of the band Planxty.
Recorded circa 1964.
