He sings to them, plays music to them and tends to their every need with the devotion of a protective parent.
Charlie has even helped the humble tomato take its next evolutionary step - he has grown what is believed to be the world's first square tomato, perfect for fitting in a sandwich. He is now working on growing a heart-shaped tomato for his wife.
