1970: Fairy bridge
"I didn't say hello to the little people. On the following day, I slipped down a hole that I didn't see, and I had my leg in plaster for five weeks."
Local legend on the Isle of Man has it that if you don't wave when crossing the 'fairy bridge', bad luck awaits.
The injured man insists he doesn't necessarily believe in fairies.
"It might have been that or it might have been the fact that it was Friday the Thirteenth."
