Police in Northern Ireland say more than 拢20m may have been stolen in a raid at a bank's headquarters in Belfast city centre.

The families of two Northern Bank executives were held hostage for 24 hours.

It is believed it could be one of the biggest cash robberies in the UK. The bank said a "significant" amount of money had been stolen.

This clip from the following day's news was first broadcast on 21 December 2004.

It later emerged that 拢26.5m had been stolen. Only one person has been convicted in connection with the raid - for money laundering - and the case remains unsolved.
