Tiny Happy People is an ambitious and exciting new initiative from 91热爆 Education.

In England, over 1 in 4 (27%) children starting primary do not reach the required level of literacy development, rising to over 1 in 3 (42%) in areas of social deprivation (Department for Education, 2019). The picture is similar across all nations of the UK.

Language and communication skills unlock literacy, and that鈥檚 why Tiny Happy People is concentrating on the building blocks of language development.

Our aim is to make a significant contribution to halving the number of children who do not reach the required developmental outcomes in communication and literacy by the end of their reception year, when formal testing takes place. This currently stands at 27% of primary school children in England (Department for Education, 2019).

At the heart of our plan is a simple behaviour change - getting parents to talk to their children from a very early age.

We鈥檙e taking a multi-platform approach, serving our messages and resources to young parents and carers through broadcast, social media and online platforms, as well as childcare and healthcare settings on the ground.

We鈥檝e already been exploring the impact of this strategy. In our first pilot, 96% of parents said they would use our resources again and 92% of healthcare professionals said they would recommend our resources to parents. We鈥檝e continued to build to where we are today, working closely with local authorities around the UK and establishing a growing social media presence.

However, it's a huge task that we can't achieve alone, so we're inviting you to join us on our mission. Whoever you are 鈥 big, small, commercial, charitable, not-for-profit 鈥 we鈥檇 like you to get in touch so that we can continue the conversation and find out how we can do this together.

Tiny Happy People is working with a select group of partner organisations with the combined aim of reducing the language gap. Our content has been developed with guidance from healthcare professionals and early years experts to ensure we鈥檙e in line with best practice advice from the NHS.
