Justin Fletcher has the first of two dance sessions based on Eileen Browne's popular counting book Handa's Hen.

1. The hen hunt

The children will learn an African style circle dance using simple movement patterns and will then go on an imaginary hen hunt, working alone at first and then with a partner. Actions reinforce prepositions such as 鈥榖ehind鈥, 鈥榰nder鈥 and 鈥榠n鈥 and verbs such as 鈥榟unt鈥, 鈥榩eer鈥, 鈥榩eep鈥, 鈥榮earch鈥 and 鈥榣ook鈥. On their journey they discover butterflies and mice.
