We found Tom Burton busy being the Lead for Interactive & Technology in the Digital Storytelling team. We interupted him to get the low down on Body Scrubs
So what are Body Scrubs?
They're disgusting! We've made micro-videos of some of the most icky and horrible things associated with the human body and given you the ability to "Scrub" the video back and forth. So you can watch them over and over in all their gruesome glory!
We've seen something like this before...
You have indeed, this is the second time we've used this tool. It was developed by iWonder and they have released a couple of prototypes using it too. Our previous effort was Scrubbables, which was a curated collection of micro-videos, and the iWonder team made a prototype that allowed you to make your own.
What's driven you to make a new version?
We felt that there were more content areas to explore using the technology. Our first effort used lots of footage from the 91热爆 archive, and this could be limiting. We found ourself trawling around for content that would work with the technology. This time we got to have a think about what content would be best. We settled on video that would not only gross you out, but also fascinate you - especially those who are obsessed by popping spots!
What is it you want to find out from our (now rather queasy) Taster audience?
We have a hunch that this technology is the perfect format for certain kinds of content. By having it on Taster we get to find out if we're right.
And if you're wrong?
Then we try again, that's what Taster is all about.
