  1. goal

GOAL: Bromley 0-2 Blackpoolpublished at 28 mins

    Karamoko Dembele

    What a goal that is.

Karamoko Dembele glides through the Bromley half, changes direction and then drives towards the box. He pings a low pass into the feet of Kylian Kouassi before racing on to meet the dinked return pass with a cool slotted finish underneath Grant Smith's despairing dive.

Most players would have hammered that on the bounce but his angled finish showed maturity way beyond his 20 years. Some player.

  2. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Ben Krauhaus (again) shows touch and awareness to play Louis Dennis in down the right of the Blackpool box, his low cross is slid into the near post but Marvin Ekipteta reads the ball perfectly to clear the ball and prevent Michael Cheek from a simple tap-in.

    Football's the winner.

Bromley are growing into this game.

Blackpool are always a danger with the pace that they have got but Bromley are getting more confident after the early hit.

They are coming into game, they're putting balls into the box.

Bromley manager Andy Woodman won't be too displeased with what he's seen so far.

  4. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Deji Elerewe strides forward from the back for Bromley like prime Franz Beckenbauer but is unable to collect a return pass deep in the Blackpool half and has to quickly turn tail and gallop back to his position.

Playground football played on the biggest stage. You love to see it... (presumably unless your name is Andy Woodman).

  5. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Corey Whitely tries his luck from just outside the box but his shot takes a deflection off a defender's boot and glides into the grateful arms of Richard O'Donnell.

The chance owed much to the bustling ambition of Ben Krauhaus who has been at the heart of most of the Ravens' best moments so far.

  6. 'A really good opportunity'published at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on 91Èȱ¬ Two

That's the first time we've heard this Bromley crowd.

Passley gets around the outside and puts a really good ball in, Whitely times his run into the box, completely unmarked, he should be picked up at the near post.

    A really good opportunity.

  7. CLOSE!published at 17 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Blackpool midfielder Kenny Dougall drives forward and lets fly from 20 yards only to send his effort iches past the base of Grant Smith's post.

Straight down the other end and Josh Passley's cross from the right byline is met by Corey Whitely at the near post but his glancing volley flies across the face of Richard O'Donnell's goal with the keeper at full stretch to his right.

    End-to-end fare at Hayes Lane.

  8. 'Blackpool have got so much pace on the break'published at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on 91Èȱ¬ Two

Blackpool have got a lot of pace. If Bromley turn over possession to Blackpool in certain areas, you look at the front three.

It's another sign of danger that Blackpool have got so much pace on the break and that man Kouassi leading the line.

  9. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Blackpool already look so threatening on the break. Packed with pace and technically tidy players.

This attack comes to nought as Kylian Kouassi is penalised for a shove as he struggled to latch onto Shayne Lavery's attempted through-ball.

  10. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Josh Passley is played through on the edge of the box and goes down under pressure from Owen Dale but it's shoulder-to-shoulder, referee David Rock is not interested.

Good response from the hosts. Byron Webster almost capitalises on it with a slash at a far post volley but he can only blaze his effort further wide than the cross started.

A defender's finish, to put it kindly.

  11. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

Blackpool pouring forward once again. You wouldn't know they played on Wednesday night against Fleetwood.

Karamoko Dembele's looping half-volley from the edge of the box deflects off target, though the subsequent corner comes to nought,

  12. 'That's all about Kouassi'published at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Bromley 0-1 Blackpool

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on 91Èȱ¬ Two

That's all about Kylian Kouassi in the centre of the park, the Blackpool staff spoke of him very highly.

It's a great first touch and a fantastic finish into the top corner.

Perfect start for Neil Critchley's team.

  13. goal

GOAL Bromley 0-1 Blackpoolpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Shayne Lavery (5 mins)

An absolutely devastating counterattack from the League One side.

Kylian Kouassi picks up the ball from his own area, drives through midfield and threads a superbly weighted pass into the path of Shayne Lavery who bears down on goal and unleashes a sublime finish past Grant Smith and into the top corner via a kiss off the underside of the bar.

A picturebook goal. What can Bromley do to respond to that?

  14. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    Bromley 0-0 Blackpool

Owen Dale is left unmarked at the far post to meet a right-wing cross from Shayne Lavery with a stooping volley but his effort flashes over Grant Smith's crossbar.

Bright start from the Tangerines. Karamoko Dembele, a 20-year-old from Ligue 1 Brest, is worth keeping an eye on tonight.

  17. Ravens soaring under Woodmanpublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Bromley v Blackpool (17:45 GMT)

For all their success in the early 20th century, these are truly the glory days at Hayes Lane.

Since Andy Woodman was appointed in March 2021, Bromley have won the FA Trophy, beating Wrexham at Wembley in 2022, and reached the National League play-offs on two occasions, and are once again making a strong challenge for promotion to the Football League.

They've lost one of their past 17 league and cup games and sit third in the table. In addition, Bromley are one win from reaching the FA Cup second round for the first time since 1945.

The Ravens have an extraordinary record in the FA Cup proper – and, to be honest, not in a good way.

They are winless in their last 22 games in the competition proper, losing 18 of them, since their last win, a 6-1 victory over Slough in 1945.

They also hold the FA Cup record for the longest run of games against Football League opposition without ever winning a tie – an incredible 19 matches, 15 of which have been defeats.

There are a few causes for optimism, however, Blackpool have lost their last three away ties in the competition, at Brighton in 2020/21, Hartlepool the following season and Southampton last year, all by the same 2-1 scoreline.

While Blackpool have seen-off 10 of the 12 non-league sides they have encountered, they did lose against Boreham Wood in 2017, and wouldn’t you know, that finished 2-1 too.

Stanley Matthews receives his winners' medal from the Queen in 1953.

On a soggy 4 November, dreams of sundrenched Wembley glory might still be just that, dreams, but for a handful of clubs involved in this first round, those dreams have been a reality.

Bromley and Blackpool have incredibly proud cup pedigree and actually graced Wembley Stadium within 12 months of one another nearly 75 years ago.

After losing in the final to Manchester United in 1948 and Newcastle three years later, Blackpool overcame Bolton 4-3 in one of the great FA Cup finals in 1953 – The Matthews Final.

Stanley Matthews inspired the Tangerines' comeback from 3-1 down after 68 minutes to lift the cup, with Stan Mortensen completing a hat-trick to equalise on 89 minutes and then Bill Perry scoring the winner in the dying seconds of added time.

Bromley were at the other end of the footballing pyramid in those days, but in 1949 they beat Romford 1-0 to win the FA Amateur Cup for the third time in their history under the Twin Towers infront of a crowd of more than 93,000 fans.

They returned to the scene, this time under the arch, to stun Wrexham and win the 2022 FA Trophy.

Blackpool, have won under that same arch four times, earning play-off final glory and promotion from League Two, League One and the Championship.

Which set of fans will be dreaming of a return to the national stadium again come bedtime?

  19. 'It's a free hit for us'published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Bromley v Blackpool (17:45 GMT)

Bromley boss Andy Woodman told 91Èȱ¬ MOTD LIve:

"We're in good spirits going into this. We've been on a good run.

"It's a free hit for us, the pressure is not on us. I want to enjoy it and try to win.

"We've been on a really good run and I have got an honest group of players. I am looking forward to it.

"Blackpool played Wednesday night which is a tough ask for them - I hope the FA Cup Gods are smiling on us.

"We'll have to be at our best and capitalise on a moment or two at their end."
