Jakub Jankto has only scored five goals this season for his country (one) and club side Sampdoria (four), but he could already have two tonight. Wales have to start picking him up.

One of the three centre-halves has to step out or they'll keep picking their pockets and stepping round them.

  3. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Wales 0-0 Czech Republic

Jakub Jankto is causing Wales all kinds of issues.

This time he goes clear after a defender slipped over, but his shot is into the side-netting. That's an even better chance.

  5. CLOSE!published at 11 mins

    Wales 0-0 Czech Republic

A really good passing move from the visitors culminates in Jakub Jankto having a shot at goal from just outside the area and he curled his effort just wide.

But that's a warning shot. Wales are second best so far.

    Wales 0-0 Czech Republic

Wales finally get into the Czech half as Connor Roberts launches in a couple of his long throws.

However, the Czechs are able to clear confidently. They look buoyed by holding Belgium.

With the amount of long balls from both sides so far, you do wonder why Kieffer Moore isn't starting for Wales.

He has been nursing an issue with his heel recently but he was fit enough to start against Mexico on Saturday.

The first shot of the game is for the hosts as Tomas Soucek swivels, but his effort is straight at Danny Ward.

Soucek is having a really good season and is a favourite of fantasy football managers.

How we feeling about Harry Wilson as the false nine and no Kieffer Moore?

I have to say, I'm surprised Wales have gone away from using Moore as a starter, he's been so effective for them.

Wales v Czech Republic (19:45 BST)

There really are only going to be so many variations of this headline I can do you know.

Anyway, here are those stats you didn't ask for.

    • Wales and the Czech Republic last faced back in June 2007 in a European Championships qualifier, drawing 0-0 at the (then called) Millennium Stadium.
    • Including games as Czechoslovakia, the Czechs have only won one away match against Wales in seven attempts (D3 L3), a 3-1 victory in a EUROs qualifier in April 1971 at Vetch Field.
    • Wales have lost just one of their last 15 home matches in qualification for the Euros/World Cup (W9 D5), a 1-0 defeat to Republic of Ireland in October 2017.
    • Wales lost their opening qualification match against Belgium – they last started a World Cup qualifying campaign with consecutive defeats in September 2012 (for World Cup 2014), with their opening game back then coming against Belgium.
    • Including games as Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic will be looking to win their opening two away games in a World Cup qualifying campaign for the first time since 1969.
    • Gareth Bale has had a hand in 13 goals in his last 18 starts for Wales (7 goals, 6 assists), providing an assist in each of his last three appearances.
    • Harry Wilson has scored in consecutive appearances for Wales for the first time – he had found the net in just two of his previous 19 games for the national side.
    • Tomas Soucek has netted seven goals in his last 13 games for West Ham and Czech Republic combined, including a hat-trick in his last away outing for his country (versus Estonia).

  17. 'Messing around the supply teacher'published at 19:38 British Summer Time 30 March 2021

Wales v Czech Republic (19:45 BST)

Former Wales striker and assistant manager Dean Saunders is not impressed with the Wales trio sent home for "breaching protocol" ahead of tonight's vital game.

He says the players have treated caretaker boss Robert Page like a replacement teacher.

"It's like being at school when you bring the supply teacher in, everybody starts messing around in the class... they've put him in a difficult position.

"He's under pressure to keep everything right and he's gone down the firm route, but the three of them are no use to us [on their way home] down the M4.

"It's a distraction and the last thing we need really.

"The situation Robert Page is in, he's under pressure anyway trying to keep the discipline in the camp."

Hal Robson-Kanu, Rabbi Matondo and Tyler Roberts have been released from the Wales squad after "breaching protocols".

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) did not specify the nature of the breach.

  19. World Cup qualifiers round-uppublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 30 March 2021

Wales v Czech Republic (19:45 BST)

We've had two World Cup qualifiers already today. In Group H, Cyprus have bagged a 1-0 home win over Slovenia to take them (for the time being at least) up to second in the group.

Meanwhile, Serbia won 2-1 in Azerbaijan, with Fulham's Alexandar Mitrovic scoring both of the goals for the away side. His club side would dearly love him to carry on from that once he's back on English soil. That win takes Serbia top of Group A for now.
