Similar dismissal to the one that got Shane Snater in his previous over, as he skids one into Simon Harmer's pads.

He went for one too many but it's been a fine, fine innings from David Bedingham.

Worcestershire are delighted that they have finally struck but he's done plenty of damage.

He departs for 138 off 98 and the crowd really have been entertained by a magnificent innings.

He just went to carve that one away over the off side, didn't get all of it and it was a terrific catch in the end.

    Hampshire 134-1 v Warwickshire 455

Hampshire have started to speed up as we head towards the close of day two.

It's helped by things like getting 12 off an OHD over - a rare occurence indeed.

Fletcha Middleton and Nick Gubbins are both in the sixties and they have taken their partnership to 117.

They lead by 326 with 15 over remaining.

  9. wicket

WICKET Came lbw Scriven 0published at 17:54 British Summer Time 20 April

    Derbys 1-1 v Leics 574-7 dec

That's what an extended spell in the field can do.

Just three balls into Derbyshire's first innings and Harry Came is leg before to Tom Scriven.

Skipper David Lloyd scored the first run but the next 16 overs could be very testing for the home side.

  10. wicket

WICKET Slater c Dickson b Davey 8published at 17:54 British Summer Time 20 April

    Somerset 454 v Notts 193 & 8-1

There is the first wicket for the hosts!

We said it would be a tricky spell for Notts and Ben Slater is on his way back.

He goes to pull Josh Davey, but the ball gets big on him and it goes high up in the air, but it still needs a terrific catch from Sean Dickson running back from midwicket to complete the dismissal.

Somerset will fancy one or two more wickets before the close.

    Kent 244 v Surrey 133-0

Runs coming too easily for Surrey now.

Dom Sibley tucks Matty Parkinson away to mid-wicket and the fielder in the deep can't make up the ground to prevent a boundary.

Must have been very good timing because Sibley just placed that one.

  12. wicket

    Worcs 184 v Durham 244 & 254-4

    They lead by 314.

Richard Clarkson: Took the boys to their (and my!) first match today as are playing just up the road from us in Kidderminster. A session and a half in the cold was enough for the 7yo but we had a great time!

    Lovely to hear that, Richard.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 20 April

WICKET Westley lbw b Lyon 81published at 17:46 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 365-8 v Lancashire 146

Tom Westley loves playing to leg, but comes with a risk, especially to an off-spinner and there is no doubt that he is out to Nathan Lyon as the ball raps him on the pads.

The Essex captain goes 19 short of a ton, but with his side in a wonderful position.

  16. Notts start second knockpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 20 April

    Somerset 454 v Notts 193 & 0-0

Notts have just lost the Somerset tail wag in a big way, but now they have an uncomfortable period to bat.

The sun is out but the home bowlers will be buoyed by their runs as they target Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed.

  17. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 20 April

    Middx 246 v Yorks 159 & 109-5

It's tense stuff at the home of cricket following the dismissal of Joe Root.

George Hill and Jonny Tattersall are batting with care, but there are 21 overs to come and the Yorkshire lead is only 22.

50 for Nick Gubbinspublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 20 April

    Hampshire 112-1 v Warwickshire 455

After two half-centuries last week against Lancashire, Nick Gubbins has another one against the Bears.

Three fours in a Craig Miles over help him to the landmark, this coming off 104 balls.

But he has loads of batting to do with Hampshire still 343 runs adrift.

  19. Leicestershire declarepublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 20 April

    Derbys v Leics 574-7 dec

That seems just a little cruel.

With Ben Mike 49 not out off 41 balls, Leicestershire skipper Lewis Hill decided they have enough runs on the board.

It is the club's second-highest total in a Championship game against Derbyshire - they made 619 all out on the same ground in 2017.

Hats off to Marcus Harris, who anchored the innings with a superb 214.

    Kent 244 v Surrey 118-0

Dom Sibley is not renowned as a carefree stroke-maker but he responds to reaching 50 by lofting Matty Parkinson down the ground for a maximum.

He repeats the shot to end the over, but this time it falls just inside the rope and it's four.

How are Kent going to separate the Surrey opening pair?
