Coventry City's on-loan Yeovil defender Dan Seaborne has been suspended for three matches by the Football Association disciplinary panel.

Seaborne was punished retrospectively for a first-half incident with Oldham striker Jonson Clarke-Harris in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Sixfields.

"The matchday observer noticed an incident in the first half," said Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley.

"They have taken appropriate action and given him a three-match ban."

The club have until 18:00 GMT on New Year's Eve to decide whether they intend to appeal, a scenario complicated by the fact that Seaborne's loan with Coventry is due to expire at the end of this week.

"We are still in discussions whether we are going to appeal or not," added Pressley. "The risk with an appeal is if we lose the appeal, Dan could get a further ban and miss more matches."

Seaborne, 26, who was already a doubt for the New Year's Day trip to Rotherham with a calf injury, has so far played seven games for the Sky Blues, finishing on the losing side in just one of them.
