Jamie Cureton: Cheltenham striker out with shoulder injury

Cheltenham Town striker Jamie Cureton is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks after dislocating his shoulder on his debut for the club.

The 37-year-old collided with keeper Jordan Pickford on his way to scoring the opening goal in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Burton.

He was taken straight to hospital and the joint was put back in place after no fracture was found.

"It's frustrating for us and him," boss Mark Yates told 91热爆 Gloucestershire.

"But at least we're not playing Saturday-Tuesday too much too often.

"He'll be a bad patient because all he wants to do is play. We've just got to keep him wrapped up and make sure we do everything we can to make sure he's back as quick as he can."

Cureton joined Cheltenham following his release from Exeter in June and is now in his 20th season as a professional.

"The good news was that there was minimal soft tissue damage and he won't require any surgery" said physio Ian Weston.

"This is Jamie's first dislocation so we will be working hard to strengthen the shoulder after we take it out of the sling."
