Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has completed his move to Italian club Palermo after agreeing a three-year deal with the Serie B club.

The deal is finalised and Lafferty will link up with former Rangers midfielder and new Palermo boss Gennaro Gattuso.

The 25-year-old left Rangers last summer as a result of their financial problems and spent last season with Swiss side Sion, scoring five goals.

Gattuso was Lafferty's manager at Sion for three months last season.

Sicily-based Palermo were relegated at the end of the last campaign and Lafferty is Gattuso's first signing since taking charge of the club.

Ex-Burnley forward Lafferty has scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Northern Ireland and has played in four of his country's five World Cup qualifying matches for Brazil 2014.

He missed the 2-0 defeat by Israel at Windsor Park in March because of suspension.
