Mansfield Town have signed Tranmere defender Paul Black on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old will join the League Two-bound club on 1 July when his Rovers deal expires.

He made 11 appearances for Ronnie Moore's side this season after joining them from Oldham last summer.

"I met with a few teams in the close season but as soon as I knew Mansfield were interested, and then having spoken to the boss, it was a no-brainer to sign."
