Barnet have confirmed Edgar Davids will remain as the club's head coach.

The Bees were relegated from League Two and former Netherlands midfielder Davids, 40, wanted to discuss his future with chairman Tony Kleanthous.

"Last season ended disappointingly but I'm thrilled Edgar has decided to stay. I know he is the right man to take us forward," Kleanthous said.

"He has started a football revolution here and we hope we can maintain our new, attractive style of play."

Davids joined Barnet in October and was appointed head coach two months later when the club parted company with Mark Robson, with whom he had been joint boss.

He made 29 appearances, two years after his last competitive game.

The former Ajax, AC Milan and Juventus player's decision to stay is a boost to the Bees who have not only been relegated, but have had to leave their Underhill stadium and will instead play their home games in front of temporary seating at their training ground next season.
